Printmaking

Printmaking Final Critique      Project #1: The Blue Dalmatian This is my first project making two-tone prints in this class. Out of the few that I have made, this is one of the best turnouts. There were two challenges I had regarding this project. For starters, since I was using the same block to make the second layer, I needed not to take off what wanted to keep. It required a lot of "backward thinking", and any mess-ups were irreversible.  What was also a challenge was aligning the brick on top of the paper so both prints were layered together perfectly. This was the closest I got to perfect. If there was something I could do to make this better, I would have removed more linoleum on the edges, so they printed in unwanted areas. I would have also been more careful about carving around the tail. On the middle bottom of the tail, it looks like a smaller animal bit into it. That wasn't an intentional detail.  Besides that, I liked this project as I can ass...

Intro to Pyschology

Course Evaluation      Course subjects         Taking my first course that is solely teaching about Psychology had its own definition of challenging. I had to learn a subject without any firm background as to what it means other than what I've learned about a few Psychologists in the past. Without a doubt, the hardest subjects to learn were ones that involved recognizing new vocabulary words. Mainly regarding how the brain functions. It was hard enough learning the different "sections" of the brain. But to try to explain each one by its corresponding name and function was hard to grasp.     Similarly to what I have mentioned before, the easiest discussion was when we had to learn about conditioning theories. Robert Shultz has talked about this subject several times in his Eco-Human Experience class, so I retained some knowledge about classical conditioning. I didn't necessarily learn anything brand new  to this subject...

Perspectives On learning

Course Evaluation      Course subjects         One of the easier assignments in this course was the one about reinforcement and talking about classical conditioning. Hilariously, all three of my required education classes talked about reinforcement and conditioning. Everything about the topic was fresh knowledge. What helped was that this class went far in depth with conditioning, instead of going through bits of psychology rapidly. This gave me time to learn and process this information with a firm idea of how it applies in a classroom environment.       This isn't confirmed true or false, but I am imagining that when I have to make a discussion with three other people portraying as different psychologists is going to be hard. Not because of anxiety, which seems to be brought up by my peers a lot. It's the fact I have to research three characters and learn about their backgrounds. I also have to portray my own characte...

Eco-Human Experience (Fall)

Course Evaluation      Course subjects     The assignments in this course were not at all challenging. I got to rewatch documentaries and reflect off of what I thought when I first watched the video. Usually, seeing something twice, viewers can pick up details that didn't make sense or weren't seen before. In my opinion, God Loves Uganda was still hard to sit through. Not just the fact gay people couldn't live comfortably in Uganda, but from the perspective of someone with a Catholic background, it's hard to fathom how communities that are also Christian can create such an ugly divide between people. Even out of their home country.     The easiest assignment in my opinion was when students were assigned a chapter to make a discussion about. Reflecting on my first attempt at making a discussion, I failed to make a conversation that doesn't directly rip off from the book. Since I was struggling to remember the story's timeline verbatim, I pa...
